Wait they said "Soon" and it was actually a short time?!

Well now, even I gotta hand it to Blizzard. Just the other day they made a statement that the long-awaited Panda-monium-casing Beta test (yes, yes, a blind man could see what I did there) would be coming “Very Soon”, and they delivered! The Mists of Pandaria Beta went live just a scan 2 hours ago.

Most people who have known Blizzard as a company for the last many years are well familiar with the expression “Soon” and it’s relationship to Blizzard’s timetables. “Soon” is used from everything from later on in that same day, and anywhere up to and including around 6 months from the stated time. But, for now, we’re certainly thankful.

Now chances are, if you’re still one of the 10+ Million subscribers to World of Warcraft, you’re either already knee deep in Panda-Information that you’re just looking at this article to see what horrible jokes I make this time around, or you’re just waking up and checked us before any other feed.

Now while I’d like to say I’m going to be able to bring you live updates every few hours, once again I have to hand it to the team over at MMO-Champion for being the first on the scene, and for utterly obsessing over this to levels I can’t even imagine being able to pull off, and I’m the God-Damn Dreadmist Man! In their statement to the world, Blizzard said that they’re going to be sending out Beta Invitations in waves, inviting the usual suspects along with everyone who signed up for the “Annual Pass” that began back in October. They encourage everyone to beware of scammers sending out false e-mails, and it goes without saying that should you receive an email from Blizzard saying you’ve gotten in, don’t click a link in the mail just go to your Account Page instead.

Well, I’m off to go stare at my e-mail’s inbox for the next few hours… next few days are going to be nuts!
