tales of xillia may be on its way! time to party?

With Tales of Graces f releasing last week, this bit of news comes at a rather convenient time. The sleuths over at Silconera have uncovered a Tales of Xillia trademark filed by Namco Bandai in a European database. This isn’t an old trademark either, in fact it was filed just two days ago on 3/20/11. While Graces f hasn’t released in the PAL region yet, this could be indicative of what’s to come for the series in the future.

Namco Bandai could simply be filing this to future-proof themselves, but it’s worth noting that they have localized every home console Tales game they’ve ever trademarked. Tales of Xillia went on to sell over 625,000 in Japan last year, making it one of the best selling games of 2011. I would venture a guess and say the game has probably sold close to a million copies, if not more by now. While this isn’t anything official, it’s definitely a good sign.

What do you make of this finding? Does this mean we will indeed get a localized version of the game? Are you interested in getting the game if we do receive it? Share all your thoughts with us in the comments below.

Just as long as Namco doesn’t make me wait ages for a Europe release. I’m importing graces f to make a point that I won’t stand for this shit.

You’re proving your point by increasing the sales in the US and decreasing the sales in your area proving to Namco NOT to release in your area.

Tell me how this works in your favor again?

Sorry, I want the game now. I refuse to accept a “summer release.” It works in my favour because I can play it now. Guess I’m just a tales fan.

Hey I would hate to wait for it too. XD

I’m playing some other tales games currently so my lack of a PS3 to actually play Graces f doesn’t bother me too much right now.

But that’s the great thing. Even if it is EU only, PS3 games are region-free so Americans can still have it shipped here and play the PAL game on our USA systems. Really, the only thing stopping most of us from playing Xillia is the lack of english text. Once it gets english text, I don’t care where it’s released. I’m buying it.

Well, that’s a good sign. It probably does mean that Europe will get Xillia. And if Graces F does indeed have good sales in North America, as indicated earlier this week, I’d wager we’ll have good odds of getting it here as well (since the translations needed for NA will have to be done for a European version anyway).

    Color me hopeful then.

Why do I have this suspicious feeling the game will be an EU exclusive like the 3 Wii RPG games, or rather, EU before US?

Whatever the truth may be, this is a positive sign worthy of optimism.

Good. Good. This is good news if just purely speculative in nature.

Just Europe though? Don’t pull a Nintendo of America on me Namco Bandai! Don’t you dare! D:<
