The fight for survival is about to begin…

I Am Alive, the little game that just would not die, is almost upon us and Ubisoft has released one final launch trailer for everyone to view.

Originally announced in 2008 from now defunct developer Darkworks as a full retail release, I Am Alive eventually dropped off the map, leading most to believe that this potentially innovative survival focused game was dead in the water. Yet as if determined to live up to its own moniker, I Am Alive eventually resurfaced, this as a downloadable title, with a new studio, Ubisoft Shanghai, attached to it as well. Now the game is about to be released and gamers will be able to determine if it really has been worth the wait. As for those still on the fence, take a gander at the game’s launch trailer, along with its official description, below:

I Am Alive Official Description
One year after a worldwide cataclysmic event has wiped out most of human civilization, a man struggles for survival. Faced with an insecure, decaying, and hazardous world, he scours a desolated city, searching for his long lost wife and daughter. Survive the suffocating, murky streets covered in dust. Climb the teetering remains of the last standing skyscrapers to reach breathable air and find untouched resources. Explore the crumbling ruins of a once-thriving metropolis. And discover a changed human condition, punctuated by distrustful survivors, dangerous armed gangs, and victims in need.

I Am Alive is set for a Quarter 1 2012 release on PSN and tomorrow, March 7, on XBLA as part of the 2012 House Party event. Stay tuned to Blistered Thumbs for continuing coverage of the game and be sure to share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.

Woah look at all those colors, grey and brown, little bit of green.

This game offers nothing new. It’s a retextured Assassins Creed under a new IP with first person gameplay and terrible AI.

The trailer does what it should. It gets you interested in the game, but leaves enough questions to make you want to check it out.

    Demo time. :D

I can’t judge the game that much from these trailers but I’m intrigued nevertheless.

I kinda like the look of this one. The trailer didn’t show much gameplay but as it looks to be a budget title I think it could be worth a shot to waste a rainy day.
