I know this alone will get many of your hearts beating faster but this is not even half the games being marked down in price.

PSP and Vita owning JRPG fans takes note: Atlus has just unveiled their ReVITAlized price drop event and its a doozy.

It has been over a month since the Vita first hit the shores of the US but sadly great games for the system are still lacking, especially on the RPG front. While this is only to be expected from a system that has been available for such a short time, it is still something of bummer for gamers. Well here comes good news from one of the kings of the genre these days: Atlus. While they do not yet have any Vita games to share with owners, they have made the move to dramatically slash prices on all of their library of PSP games currently available via PSN. That is right their entire library. Including all three PSP Persona games. I give you a moment to recover. … … … Better? Good. OK, so lets lay out the full selection of games and their new prices below with the aid of some handy dandy images produced by Atlus themselves.

I love a bad pun. No really, I do.

Persona PSP Collection

The Dept Heaven Collection

Stand Alone Titles

List of Games in Alphabetical Order:

Class of Heroes (was $39.99, is now $14.99)
Crimson Gem Saga (was $29.99, is now $14.99)
Hexyz Force (was $29.99, is now $14.99)
Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble (was $39.99, is now $14.99)
Knights in the Nightmare (was $29.99, is now $14.99)
Persona (was $39.99, is now $19.99)
Persona 2: Innocent Sin (was $39.99, is now $29.99)
Persona 3 Portable (was $39.99, is now $19.99)
Riviera: The Promised Land (was $14.99, is now $9.99)
Yggdra Union: We’ll Never Fight Alone (was $14.99, is now $9.99)

There are some amazing games among that list (two of which we covered as part of our PSP 25-in-25 feature: Hexyz Force and Persona 3 ) and if you are a Vita owner looking for something to play while you wait for the system to really strut its stuff, you could do a lot worse than the games on this list. The Dept. Heaven series in particular are some of the most original and unusual takes on the JRPG genre I have ever played and with the next game in the series, Gungnir, due out this June now is the perfect time to get caught up in the series. Stay tuned to Blistered Thumbs for continuing coverage of all Atlus games and be sure to share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.

    This is awesome stuff.

    My problem is that I already OWN ALL OF THESE. ;-;

I don’t regret buying them either, I love actually having a physical copy.

Oh, how foolish a statement, Sylveria. The Vita has finally given me a chance to play all those games I missed out on because I had other priorities when it was the most modern series.

I’ve finally seen why people enjoy Dissidia (I’ve put in about 18 hours already), plus I get to play Valkyria Chronicles II, the sequel to my favourite game on the PS3.

Atlus have it right. I’ve been considering Persona 3 since I got the Vita but it was too expensive for me. Thanks for posting this.

You bought a machine that has no games except what is ported from the last generation console. Congrats, I guess? Do you want a prize for not contributing to initial release sales then buying digital, thus contributing to the decline of physical product distribution and showing them that there’s only a demand when the price drops; offering them little to no incentive to spend the money to localize?

But nah, keep patting yourself on the back, it’s doing the industry so much good. I can’t wait to buy a 4DS to play gameboy color games on.

You’re right, it would have been a much better idea for me to buy an outdated system and then have to track down copies of games on a poor physical medium that cost twice as much to find new than it does to purchase copies online.
That’s assuming I can even do so since a lot of major chains in Australia stopped selling new PSP games as soon as the Vita came out.

Perhaps I should have turned to eBay instead, where none of the money I pay goes to the developers, giving them no incentive to do anything at all?

And I should always buy full price, because why would I want to show developers that competitive pricing in the market leads to more support of a system, developer or game?

Thanks for showing me the light.

” Vita owner looking for something to play while you wait for the system to really strut its stuff, you could do a lot worse than the games on this list.”

Yep, if you spent the money on a Vita and now realized there’s no games for it but desperately need something to play on your $300 paper weight, you can buy digital version of PSP games that you may already own hard copies of. Good thing they didn’t include backwards compatibility huh?

Course, I don’t blame Atlus for this. I’d try and capitalize on the poor purchasing decisions of people to. Heck, I’d call them brilliant since half the people I’ve seen on BT who got or are planning to get a Vita are only doing it for the P4 port.

Yea about that see I owned a pspgo so for me this was only a upgrade since it gave me access to vita games and most of the psp games I had bought already and the reason they didn’t do the passport thing in any other region then japan is that the japanese are respectful to the video game industry and don’t actively try and pirate games hell there isn’t even a real used game market in japan because of how much they see it as hurting the game industry in japan.

I’m not sure what I want to laugh at more, the fact you bought a PSPGo or that you honestly believe Japan is “above” piracy and used games and that’s why they didn’t bring across the passport system which doesn’t even make sense in context since this is Atlus’ sale which, last I checked, aren’t calling the shots for the Vita’s design specs.

But like I said, I can hardly blame them for wanting to capitalize on people’s poor purchasing decisions, such as the ones you’ve made.
