The Shin Megami Tensei series has thankfully been growing in popularity in the past few years. With the re-releases of both Persona, Persona 2: Innocent Sin, Persona 3 Portable for the PSS and for the Vita Persona 4: The Golden, its seems that Sony has become the stomping ground for those demon-summoning teenagers as they stop these monsters from killing people wantonly. Now we can add the quirky cousin to the mix, the black sheep of the arcana family, Digital Devil Saga. At least, in Europe.
Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga was always a unique title in the series because it focuses on the human characters more than the other games. The battle system is also a hallmark of this too, the humans turning into demons known as Atmas. The gameplay was still impressive and it is definitely one of the more widely remembered RPGs in the series. According to Ghostlight, the publisher behind the games back in 2004, they are planning on releasing the titles as a PSN download in Europe. No official date of course, has been given, nor is there any word that the game shall be released in the U.S.
Knowing Atlus though, they will probably think of some quirky way to release the game on PSN in the U.S. Considering the series is a hot commodity now a days, I wouldn’t be surprised if some clever announcement attached to a website or something crops up in the coming weeks.

Well that’s neat and all but I don’t live in Europe!
It wasn’t too long ago I caught the ATLUS bug and let me tell you getting all their games will drain your wallet fast even if you do get good deals.
Hopefully some people will be introduced to the series like this and get the itch.
Bugs and itching? What am I on about.
I f*cking love Ghostlight now.
As much as I like the Digital Devil Saga games, they’re going for pretty cheap on Amazon.com right now. I’d rather see the 2 Devil Summoner games get released, since they’re much more expensive and difficult to come across.
