Despite Troika Games tanking shortly after the release of RPG Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines in 2004, devout fans continued patch what’s often referred to as “a buggy masterpiece.” If you’re an avid cheerleader for Bloodlines like someone I know, chances are you’ve been scavenging the intertube for the most insignificant morsel of information regarding the development of the upcoming MMO from CCP and White Wolf that’ll focus on “player interaction.”
Other than the saucy teaser trailer released at the 2010 Grand Masquerade event, it’s been too hush-hush on the MMO front. Well?
IT’S STILL HAPPENING, YOU VULTURE.
While Senior Producer Chris McDonough probably isn’t saying anything you haven’t heard before, he does mention how Bloodlines has been their biggest influence because of how well the game captured their brand. I can only hope this implies a cameo by our favorite bi-polar Malkavian, Jeanette Voerman; That “Therese” was nothing but an artsy-fartsy nag hag.
In a recent interview by GamerLiveTV, McDonough discusses how a pen and paper RPG can make for a great MMO as well as the technology behind EVE Online.
I have a minor request as a current Chiss Bounty Hunter and a retired Blood Elf: FETCH QUESTING, DO NOT WANT.

This made my World of Darknes “Heart beat again for the computer franchies”
I just hope the do not try to change to much from how the old games where fealing, and that the try to give the players some chanse to do some of the politics that exists in WoD.
Obligatory “Victory for the Carthians, Bitch!”
If this MMO doesn’t allow you to blow up all your enemies in one fell swoop after they hazed your character, I will be very disappointed.
By the way, the woman in the picture? I keep expecting her to start ranting about “her Puddin’ Mr. J” and how he’s going to curbstomp “that mean old Dork Knight!”
I can only assume Harley Quinn’s character design in Arkham City had a hard-on for Jeanette.
So, all the vampires are going to look like slutty goths? Sad, sad world.
Would you prefer Vandals or Huns?
Why an MMO? This is just asking for trouble. MMOs bomb and tank all the time and they think something this obscure is gonna last. They should just make a sequel to Bloodlines and guarantee their money instead of wasting time and money on a project that will be free-to-play in a year, *cough* DC Universe and Star Trek Online. *cough, cough The Old Republic is next. If it’s free-to-play from the beginning I’ll give it a try and it’ll be the first MMO I’ve played since the original EverQuest.
“a buggy masterpiece.” heh if it got released today there would be tons of whining baby’s sayin it should never been released or been in development longer and all that jazz. NO ONE would ever say “a buggy masterpiece” now days. Goes to show you how far we have fallen as gamers
As long as it’s Masquerade and not Requiem I’m on board.
A vampire MMO? Seriusly?I personaly think Vampire and Werewolf are just way too used these day.
because of all that twilight shit with werewolves and sparkling vampires that ruined it
Used too much? No, not really. Aside from the embarrassing Twillight craze. But that’s not vampires to begin with.
And, seriously, speaking as a person who NEVER liked vampires myself, I’d give this a shot. Masquerade has a great concept behind it that’s just begging to be turned into an MMO. I wouldn’t mind giving this a go at all.
First, I do concur that vampires have been overused within the past decade or so. Just look at all the vampire franchises that are currently going: Anne Rice, Buffy, Angel, Underworld, Blade, Hellsing, and now, Twilight. (Granted, most of the former are way better than the last, but you get my point).
Second, Twilight did not ruin vampires. Nope! Twilight is the END RESULT of vampires having already been ruined by overuse in everything else. It’s like what you’d get if the concept of Vampires had been sitting on the bottom of a trash can for several weeks, until Stephanie Meyers came along and dug it out.
