I am glad to see Dark Soul’s on someone’s list on here. I normally don’t play through a game more then once, but Ive beat that one around 5 times now. First time alone, and after that been cooping with a few buddies in it knocking out the rest of the achievements in it. (also accidentally cursing em with a grave lord death eye every now and then without their knowledge :) )

Also love the tense pvp that the game has to offer. I play a warrior in the game with no magic sometimes waiting in a cleared Andor Lando cathedral to fight in (so I get to kill some blues too :) ). Surprised to see LBP2 on there, but it is a solid title as well. Play with my wife every now and then, or when my niece and nephew come down.

DA2 is hard for me to place. I know it isn’t as good as the first game, and did not like them removing gear customization for each party member. I think it should have been much more open. I am a bit curious on DA3 and what they are taking away from Skyrm in openness.

I just want to thank you for putting Dark Souls at number 1! It seems like a lot of people just kinda forgot about this game. I put more hours into Dark Souls than any other game this year and it was a blast! I definitely want another Souls game.

Nice list Daniel. Here is my question.

I don’t have an impression of The Witcher 2 being criticized as much as you said. I do believe it could have been improved to perfect the game, but a lot of comments and reviews are praising the game for its quality role playing experience. Sure, most people won’t say The Witcher 2 is perfect, but considering user reviews from GOG, Gamespot, and metacritic, the game is getting a fair amount of praise. Some say it is mediocre for a lot of design decisions didn’t suit their tastes, but even those people liked it partially.

Yeah, I think Witcher 2 was quite widely liked and only critic I remember really hating Witcher 2 was Yahtzee, but we all know what he thinks of PC RPGs that require the use of more braincells than just one… Though in all fairness he played prepatched version which really WAS ridiculously hard, mostly because of the lack of proper tutorial but also due to balancing issues.

While I personally don’t like the Witcher 2, I can see why people do love it. I think you have a great list that is pretty similar to my own. Just with less Witcher 2, and with more Pokemon.

Pretty good list you’ve got there. I can’t say I’ve played a whole lot of them, but those that I have, I can definitely see why they’re there (except Skyward Sword, but meh :P ).

Do have to scratch at one itchy little thing, and that being the “cake” line. I really don’t mind that sort of casual reference, but I just thought the execution was kind of, well, meh. Whether it was a reference, or a parody of reference, it just felt forced…

Still, I look forward to your 2012 list next year~

dragon age 2 well i guess we all some guilty pleasures other ppl don’t like ;)

also i like that you didn’t but MW3 or BF3, they might be the big sellers but they are not the pushers for new and intresting story or gameplay, they are merely a prefaction of a type of game

Kudos for putting Dark Souls so high up on the list, considering it’s not really a “mainstream” title that would be appreciated by the masses.I’m currently near the end of Demon’s Souls aswell as playing Dark as i love this series so much.Makes me wanna hunt down the earlier Fromsoft games series King’s Field again.

I love you for your honest love for Dragon Age 2! =) I loved it so much and I’m disappointed and sad every time I see it on a “Worst of 2011″-List.

I’ve yet to play Dark Souls since I haven’t played Demon Souls on the PS3. I just got Demon Souls, but if it’s as difficult as everyone says, then bring it on!

But other than that Zeit, I respect your list like any other. You’re just like us, and you don’t represent the community as a whole. You’re just a voice amongst many, and that’s what makes you unique.
