On this screen, our logo just looks goooood…

Hello Minions!! Welcome once again to the Big Evil Review, and today we mark the beginning of Blistered Thumbs’ coverage of the Playstation Vita, beginning with the unboxing of our first Vita to hit the offices. Now, I assure you this took countless hours to record and setup, and is completely professio-… oh, sorry… Frostmourne is informing me that I’m a lying bugger who needs to be quiet…

Anyway! Have a look at an unboxing of a PSVita (yes, I know, I call it a PSPVita, twice) and see my first opinions on the system’s physical features.

That thing is so sexy looking…

But yeah the shoulders on the PSP 1k/2k/3k all were clear and a lil cheap feeling. But from my experience they function well enough. Great review nob.

I’m waiting to see how they utilize the tech for this. I haven’t had a handheld gaming device pique my interest in a very long time. But I’m keeping an eye on this one and will likely get one if it’s everything they are saying it is.

Seems a little…neglecting? To say that about a sony product. It’s a pspvita you know there’s going to be JRPGS and other Japanese games to play on the vita in due time. Even when you say Monster Hunter there’s gotta be a MH game on the vita with better camera controls and graphics and content. Considering you could also play psp games on vita doesn’t seem all that bad. I just think it’s still early to have no interest in a console when it’s new and haven’t seen a game to your tastes yet. PSP been out a long time with multiple iterations so yeah after so many years there’s RPGs galore I’m pretty sure the same will happen with Vita.

Can’t we all agree to keep calling it an NGP? PSPVita makes it sound like an energy bar. :(

      Nope.avi

I don’t like the name “PSVista” either, since it sounds like a name of a brand of 0% calorie yogurt.

but that’s what it’s called, so deal with it.

It would have been nice to compare it size-wise to a “old” PSP, and the “clear plastic shoulder buttons” are on the older PSPs too. It’s nothing new.

Personnaly, I’m really not interested in the PSVita. My VX-3000 does the job quite well.

After watching this I am surprised that no one I have seen brought this up. So the only way to charge the PSVita is too connect it to a computer? Unless their other ways, the only way I can play and charge the Vita is have a computer with USB connection with me. So much for mobile unless I bring my laptop with me.

No, there is a plug included that allows you to connect the USB cable to a wall socket to charge and play as standard. :)

I find it difficult to not picture you wearing chain mail and a horned helmet while wielding an ax. If this is rude, I’m sorry. I’m ill and that filter in my brain that tells me when not to say shit doesn’t seem to work right now.
