Hey man, a game’s 3D effect is not a “department”. Respect your language.

maybe you can only beat in in an hour because you’re familiar with the game? But then that’s the thing, I’m pretty sure the market for this are all those young kids who don’t remember the N-64, like Sonic and other classic game collections.

Way to enable those ratings guys. Is getting bad ratings your only reason for hiding it or is there something i’m missing here.

As DeltaZX said, the Voicework was redone completely. It keeps a lot of the charm of the original though, so I can see how you might haven’t noticed it if you didn’t play the game in a long time.
Heck, they even redubbed the game in different languages, which wasn’t in the original. But at least the German voices are decent and keep a lot of the intonations where needed.
And if you don’t like the voices in your mother tongue, you can always just set the System Languange to English, even though it’s a bit annoying that you can’t just change it for the game itself.
The only little flaw with the new voices is that you can’t set them to Lylat anymore, lol.

All the other noteworthy differences have been covered by DeltaZX. I wished they had added a few missions or online multiplayer, but no, they decided to have the same problems as Ocarina of Time 3D. If you want this game or not depends on two factors:
    a) Have you played it before? No? Get it. It’s great.
    b) Do you want it portable? If not and you have the original or the virtual console version, there is no reason for you to buy this rendition. I, however, enjoy being able to pop it in and play a few missions while I travel.

Actually, the voice acting is all new and, in the end, keeps most of the charm of the original acting. I do think that they could have done better with Andross, but the rest of the VA is great. The soundtrack is also completely redone and sounds TONS better, adding much better tracks that I believe are full orchestral, and if not, are at least amazingly done MIDI compositions. The Score Attack mode was the one addition they made to the game. In Star Fox 64, you couldn’t revisit levels without playing through the entire game.

When it comes the the multiplayer though, they did drop the ball in my opinion. While it is indeed really fun to play with your friends, adding online functionality would have made it a much better feature. Also, for anyone that played the original, you will notice that the Landmaster and the option to go on foot have been removed from the multiplayer. It’s Arwing only, although the way the handle in multiplayer has been tweaked to make it very balanced. For example, the u-turn is now incredibly fast, making it a viable option for escape instead of in the original where it leaves you open to potshots for 3 seconds.

All in all I think that the game is very good, and is worth it if you don’t own the original, or are hardcore into the Star Fox franchise, with the ability to go back to levels in Score Attack being one of the main draws as well as the revamped music which I totally love.
