Set 300 years after the events in Knights of the Old Republic (and featuring some familiar faces), Star Wars: The Old Republic will put players on either side of a massive war between the Republic and the Empire. In Star Wars: The Old Republic, players will explore an age thousands of years before the rise of Darth Vader when war between the Old Republic and the Sith Empire divides the galaxy. Players can choose to play as Jedi, Sith, or a variety of other classic Star Wars roles, defining their personal story and determining their path down the light or dark side of the Force. Along the way, players will befriend courageous companions who will fight at their side or possibly betray them, based on the players` actions. Players can also choose to team up with friends to battle enemies and overcome incredible challenges.
We're all just glad they haven't announced this in 3D-… wait whah? NOOOOOOOOOooooo!
With this weekend’s stress test of The Old Republic just now getting underway, it has finally come time to being the gathering… or, well… I suppose you’d call it a test of the game’s guild system. In an effort to help BioWare test out the features of guilds in Star Wars: The Old Republic, the Disciples of Hatred will be forming up on the “COSMIC TURBINE” server. Draw upon the knowledge of experienced testers and new players alike as you venture into your first days (or many days) of testing. The guild will form in the later evening tonight, and you can get in on the action by sending a message to “Nobutadu” or if unavailable, “Mina” or “AngryJoeShow”. Now that being said, be kind, don’t be an idiot… we’re all Sith here, we’ll kick you from the guild if you cause too much of a fuss with others.
BUT! On the eve of the game’s Stress Test, BioWare has released another Class Progression video, this time for the Jedi Consular!
I’ll be the first to say that some of these videos tend to be a bit hit or miss. It’s obvious that multiple people have been working on these class videos and have achieved several different degrees of success. While each accomplishes what it sets out to do, some such as the Sith Inquisitor, have shined and compelled us to look into the class. Where others simply feel like a demo reel of abilities and looks… this one seems to lean much closer to the Inquisitor’s progression video…
Without voice work and ‘acting’ to go along with it, I feel the video loses out where the Inquisitor video shined. However in the closing moments, as the Jedi Sage blows every cooldown it has, becoming a shining beacon of the Force and overcomes it’s Elite foe and minions, I can’t help but feel that it pulled something off that the Inquisitor video missed. A sense of raw unadulterated power held in check by discipline and technique. For obvious reasons Sith aren’t normally like that, however I’m not talking in an ideal sense.
When this video ended, you were given no room to think anything over than “Oh crap, this gal means business. I can’t wait to try that class…” while in other videos which accomplished a similar feel, while you might be impressed with the video or the costumes…etc, rarely did you pause and go, “Oh wow…” but, that’s just my opinion… what did you folks think?
Angry Joe shares his SWTOR Beta Gameplay impressions as he creates his Sith Lord, engages in combat as a warrior and partakes in joyful prisoner torture!
An eccentric millionaire bent on world domination, or at least trying to find happiness and ponder the existentialism-… oh who are we kidding he's just an evil eccentric who wants to take over the world while having an amazing time playing whatever games strike his fancy. Known amongst the Blizzard community as "The Dreadmist Man".
Still think this game looks unimpressive and rough in animation and textures… sure it’s an MMO but i’ve seen more impressive models and environments from f2p titles. Only difference is that this is star wars =/
If there’s one thing Team Fortress 2 taught me it’s that enormous hats really throw off snipers as they somehow more often than not start aiming for the head. So the distraction can save your life!
But don’t worry, as with most MMOs there is a toggle to render whatever is equipped to your head invisible so you have the protection while still allowing to let your hair flow freely in the wind.
MMO Grinder Sidequest is a quick look at MMOs I wouldn’t normally review, be it through limited trial accounts, or Closed Beta games. First up, it’s the oft requested Star Wars The Old Republic.
At the Star Wars Guild Summit there was a video shown to the attendees that detailed the upcoming 1.2 Mega-Patch. Finally, after much waiting, comes the actual clear and HD version of that video…
Announcing the first gathering of the Disciples of Hatred during the Beta Weekend Stress Test! …and of course that silly Jedi Consular progression video too.
Your questions FINALLY answered! What are the best aspects of the game? Why this MMO than any other? Do we get to kill Jar Jar? All this and more in ToR Q&A #1!

With Quest for Glory I firmly in the bag, Johnny produces a diary of his Quest for Glory II character, Blistardo Thumbulous, for your perusal, in another retro installment of his Quest for Glory Collection examination.
So I joined via the guild website many, many moons ago. All I have to do is whisper you guys in game?

Can someone tell me why a huge ceremonial hat should grant any kind of benefit beyond being distracting? That thing gotta be cumbersome.

I think I hate those hats, and thats my main class.
