This is I think where you are wrong, not with Nintendo screwing over the customers, but on the details:

N64 - Everybody wants 2D arcade Style Games, but Nintendo keeps making slow 3D Games like Mario 64 to show off the graphics

Gamecube - Same thing as N64

Wii - People want fast paced arcade games games like Wii Sports, NSMB Wii and Mario Kart to be made, but Nintendo Makes slow paced 3D Games like Galaxy 2, Metroid Other M or gimmicky ones like Wii Music and drops the system halfway through 2010.

See a pattern?

HD was and is completely unimportant as for the time of the Wii release, and nobody really wanted it, it was forced upon the customers by the movie industry and TV Manufacturers later on, so a lot of people didn't really have a choice.

If anything, Nintendo is not the consumer oriented traditional Japanese company it was during it's prime. It is right now a shadow of it's former self, that tries to reach former heights by copying other less successful concepts by Sony and Microsoft.

"Look at their history:

N64 – Consumer wants a CD based system, Nintendo insist on cartridges.

Gamecube – Consumer wants an online system, Nintendo says the consumer doesn’t needonline.

Wii – Consumer wants an HD system, Nintendo says the consumer doesn’t need HD."

And wouldn't you know it; they were terrible decisions EVERY DAMN TIME.

Yeah, the N64 and GCN had amazing titles, but CD's hold more than cartridges do, and the online community is a huge dynamic that Nintendo could have taken advantage of. And seriously, "doesn't need HD?" What the HELL were they thinking? I know that people shouldn't judge a game by its graphics, but seriously, Nintendo - not even having the OPTION for current-gen graphics?

Well Larry, you again showed me how much of a waste of money collectors editions are.
I've seen a lot of cheap things add thirty to forty US dollars to them.

Looksl ike I didn't miss out then by gettign the regular version. THis game was okay, but it did take a while for the game to grow on me.

Personaly Sonic Adventure will always be my fave Sonic game, everything about it was fun and so it was nice to fight Chaos again.

Not sure how Metroid Other M got involved in the comment section but I found that game both hysterical and frustrating, funyn because dispite all of the bragging from the suits the game failed ever so epicly on the story and frustrating because I have yet to see a female protgonist so boring and mentanly unsound at the same time, everythign Samus does is be obssesed with Adam and the game never stops trying to sexulise her.

Indeed, but when you look at the half-assed efforts they did to mark the anniversaries of Super Mario and Zelda, what chance do you think Metroid has anyway? Metroid has never been classed by them in the same league as Mario and Zelda.

But You're looking at Nintendo through Western eyes, they are a VERY traditional Japanese company, and what they say goes, they place their own desires and opinions over the consumers and continue to do so until it hits their profits, then they'll listen. Look at their history:

N64 - Consumer wants a CD based system, Nintendo insist on cartridges.

Gamecube - Consumer wants an online system, Nintendo says the consumer doesn't needonline.

Wii - Consumer wants an HD system, Nintendo says the consumer doesn't need HD.

There's also the subject of loyalty, another strong Japanese belief, and the loyalty of the consumer to them means purchasing the game wether it's good or bad. The consumer wasn't loyal,- consumer gets put int he dog house.

The other theory really is the whole bad blood with Gunpei Yokoi, they've always been reluctunt to make Metroid games since he lost a lot of money of them with the Virtual Boy and left the company. Which could be true, look how long it took them to make another Donkey Kong Country game after Rare's "betrayal".

I could be wrong, but that's what could be the reasons from articles I've read over the years.

Really? thats pretty amazing. You've essentially lost an entire person in body weight that must have taken a lot of will power well done.

OT for a second; @GuruLarry Why is Nintendo screwing over fans because they fucked up Samus Aran? They made a shit game, the fans told them so by basically not buying the damned thing, and so Nintendo punishes the series fans instead of acknowledging their mistake? They could easily make it up to the fans by making a Metroid game that brings back everything that made the Metroid series awesome for the 25th anniversary, and forget Other M ever existed.

Back on topic, you do look a lot healthier of late. Congrats on the weight loss, and glad to see you back in the chair again. Paying 100 quid for this was a bit of a drag, but then when people will pay upwards of $1000 for a box with a Gears of War 3 branded 360 in it, anything is possible.
