Team Bondi Officially Shuts Down
The ballad of Team Bondi is finally complete, ending on a somber note indeed. It’s curtains, kid. Nothing but curtains.

Well, the saga of Team Bondi’s tumultuous rise and fall is nearing completion at this point.
For months now, with all of the secret memo’s about poor working conditions, the falling out between developer Rockstar Games, the loss of the I.P of L.A Noire to the publishers, and the recent rumors of the acquisition by KMM studios, the Australian Developer is now entering administration mode under the watchful eyes of accounting firm de Vrys Tayeh.
So what is administration, you are probably asking at this point. Well, when companies are going through a shakeup, often they are placed in administration to facilitate the payments to creditors through the sale of assets. Kind of like a store going out of business, everything is broken down and sold off to pay for the debts and to rake in as much money as possible for those who are owed some cash. Suffice to say, this is not a good sign for Team Bondi.
What is making this more interesting is the fact that the offices where Team Bondi was located have apparently been vacated. The website Smartcompany attempted to contact them but were told that they are no longer located there, and no one would be available to talk to the press.
It doesn’t take a detective to see the writing on the wall here. It’s a shame too because, despite the turmoil Team Bondi went through, they did make a damn good game. It is unusual to see a successful launch title from a studio only to see a it be subsequently dismantled afterwards due to inner strife, but I guess it just wasn’t in the cards for them.

A pinball winter wonderland , the return of the Ludum Dare, and the beauty of The Desolate Hope are just some of what awaits you in this week’s edition of your best source (that’s our story and we’re sticking to it) for free gaming on the net.
It is a shame to see such great Australian talent be left to waste in the wake of this, more so since it impacts the development of market growth in Sydney as it has. Still, when you have a bad boss bad things tend to happen.
And sadly Brisbane’s games industry is already dead in the water.
Let’s just hope KMM is wise and doesn’t let Mr. McManara near any important position on a gaming project ever again.
We don’t need even more potential Australian game programmers and artists faced with such immense burnout that they never want to work in the gaming industry ever again all thanks to him and his slave driving ways.
We’ll always have L.A. Noire to remember them by.
Can’t say I’m terribly surprised after all of the internal affairs and the long dev time.
