I was wondering where they got the sound rip on the “Let Them Sleep” song.
YES; it’s intrusting Thanks. ^ ^
Coincidentally the Dreamcast Collection is on sale (Sega sale) on Steam and I see that stupid bass and I’m thinking that should be Beat’s face there instead of that goddamn fish! Oh and Alpha Protocol is $2, ouch it’s gotta hurt to be the guys who worked on that game when a freakin’ cup of coffee costs more than your game.
Man oh man. How I loved this game. Everything about it was as close to perfection as you can get. I absolutely loved the soundtrack. While JSRF is not as great as the the first one,it is still a worthy successor. I still have both games on their respective systems. If only my Dreamcast didn’t die out I would be playing it right now.
That’s sad that Sega won’t continue this series. Well I can’t say I am too shocked with that news. After all how long have people been begging for a Streets Of Rage 4. It was always in the top 5 list of most wanted games in the official Deamcast magazine
While I do miss Old Sega as much as the next version,New Sega did give us Valkyria Chronicles and publish Bayonetta. So there is *some* of the old magic left in them.
Thanks for reminding why I still love Jet Grind Radio.
Has anyone ever tried looking at Sega’s NA website. I tried looking up JSR and JSRF in the games section, and the search never turned up anything. Its as though the entire game franchise was disowned and thrown out of existence or something 0_0
Guru Larry as a fellow British bloke and player of video games, I can sadly tell you JSRF is not £5.
And yeah Sega cancelling a new jet set radio shows how much of plonker sega is.
aww man after watching your update and hearing about all the cancellations of the game im really depressed because Jet Set Radio is amazing it truly deserves another sequel
“The world’s first chav simulator”. You know I never thought of it that way. Now it’s an even funnier game somehow.
Anyway, Jet Grind Radio and illbleed are pretty much at the top of my list of games I wish made it further. They were both very unique and it’s a shame they died off so quickly. I know if they continued making games under either title now I’d love to give it a go. I would welcome the variety and I know I’m far from the only one.
*For those of you who don’t know what illbleed is I’d definitely try it out if you already bought a dreamcast*
It’s amazing how Sega has become the George Lucas of the gaming world, ie once one of the biggest names in the business but now seems content to piss all over the great franchises it had.
I can understand the original being a Dreamcast exclusive, but why was Jet Set Radio Future only on the Xbox? I recall playing the first 2 or so levels of the game on a friends Xbox, but could never get the game myself since I only had a PS2.
Actually, was this game part of the Dreamcast Collection Sega recently released? Or was that different Dreamcast titles. I suppose they could do a sequel though with Sonic Adventure 2, Jet Set Radio and 2 other popular Dreamcast titles if that is the case.
No, it wasnt’ part of the release. Sonic Adventure, Crazy Taxi, Space Channel 5 and Sega Bass Fishing for some stupid reason. A Game that no one wanted.
Good Old Sega..
Classic Phantasy Star series,Afterburner,Outrun,Shinobi,
Thunderforce series,Golden Axe,Streets of Rage,Shenmue,
WonderGal coin-op (google it),Wonderboy,Hang-On series,
Sega Rally series…
Those days are long gone now *sniff*
Actually I believe they are making Phantasy Star Online 2 very soon. At least I think I read that somewhere. So there’s at least one series in that list that hasn’t died. I think it’s pc only though so that ruins it for me. Maybe you weren’t counting that one as classic.
I really meant the classic Megadrive/Genises RPGS Phantasy Star 1-4,although i did like the Dreamcast PSO.
Don’t forget Alex Kidd!
Never played Alex Kidd
I had a PC Engine back then and didnt notice much else.
Defenetly underrated game.
It really needs a sequel, or at least an HD remake on XBLA or PSN.
I went and bought another Dreamcast just to play Jet Grind Radio. Now I have to get the Xbox for Jet Set Radio future. Where’s my 3rd Jet set radio game, dang it?
Well JSRF is compatible with the 360 if you own one of those!
That is by far the best news I’ve had in the last week! Now all I have to do is find my old copy of JSRF, pray it’s not too badly damaged and pop it into my 360 and take a ride down Memory Lane!
Sweet! I’ll pick it up when I see a copyof it. My fiance and I love that game.
I owned Jet Set Radio Future for the Xbox, and while short, it was an amazing good time.
GOD, I love this game. Despite not being very good at it, and it taking me like a year to finish it, I still love it. It’s got an insane charm and fantastic gameplay. Not to mention more silliness than you can shake a stick at.
This game was awesome wish they would make more of these great music great story how could you let this series die. It’s not like you don’t have a huge following of this game.
I never played the original game. I played the Xbox game at a friend’s house once. I remember it being rather fun. I guess I should track down a copy and play it again.
I remember this game. This game was. Different. I remember playing it but I got stuck at some point and just gave up. I should give this game a try I liked it’s style.
I remember watching the trailer of Jet Set Radio on a demo disk that came with my first Dreamcast (since then I probably bought 4 more for various reasons) and I was blown away from the gorgeous cell shaded visuals and smooth as butter animation.
Today I still love this game as much as I did when I finally managed to buy it (about eleven years ago) and popped it in my DC for the first time. Like a fine wine it only get’s better as time passes by. I also like the sequel on the Xbox but even though it was generally a better game I still prefer the original (no sprint button and instant tagging no matter the size of the graffiti you are trying to make? No thanks).
Indeed, makes me want to do the very same
This the kind of unqiue and original games I love Sega for. Or at least Old Sega.
Not new Sega where they say “screw our other franchises” and keep making more and more terrible Sonic games.
Dang it, now i got to drag out my Dreamcast again and play me some Jet Set Radio. Wish I had more space.
Wasn’t this the game that was banned in Australia? I forget..
For promoting graffiti? Yeah, I heard something along those lines.
That’s odd. As far as I remeber, the PAL version of the game showed a warning on startup that you should NOT go out and spray-paint things.
Yep. But then again, Australia has laws against the depiction of small-breasted women. No, I am not making this up.
