the only thing i didnt like was how short the game was and the features it has, side missions, collectables, weapons, and such. they were not as expansive as i thought. that and the ending. i really hated the ending.

But what about the voice acting Sage??!!! You always mention the voice acting in every game you review. That is your fetish after all.

Bennet called the game flawed like there is a perfect game out there with zero flaws.

Great review of an excellent game. I’ve seen ads for this game that make the Rockstar/GTA comparison while showing shots which are GTA-like, and I think that’s a big mistake to make that comparison.
This is a very different game with a different tone, feel and mechanic to GTA and I think iit may lead to disappointing those who thought it was another GTA-style game. I’ve seen numerous people selling off the game saying they only played it for a few hours, and I think the preconceptions built up in the marketing may hurt the game’s chances with a lot of people.
The facial animations are so good that it frankly makes the rest of the animation and modelling in the game look primative by comparison. They’re not bad, they just look a generation behind the faces.

Even before this game came out I had a feeling it would be like Red Dead in that it’s an homage to a film genre, while sort of being a period piece as well, having a different take on familiar movie cliches while taking the subject matter seriously. I would be happy if Rockstar kept making games in this vein and never made another GTA again. It’s nice that they’re successfully getting away from their staple franchise and trying new and interesting things.

As much as I like the investigation portions I suppose I have been getting impatient with them. I haven’t had a chance to beat the game yet, last time I played I had just made it to Vice.

I’ve found the controls to be pretty elegant. I really haven’t had much trouble with movement or action, but that’s just me.

It was good to hear Bennett’s opinion becouse Angry Joe’s opinion made this game seem perfect from its all elements but clearly its not. Its good to know what to expect and Bennett’s reviews tell just that.

Joe basicallly covered the same points (how it can get tedious if played straight for many hours etc.). Except the clunkyness of the controls, which was present in RDR also so I kinda expected it. Anyway, this game is a must have, as soon as i get my box fixed from its red ring of death…

So, only criticism for this game is “is isn’t perfect”? Sounds like a kick ass recommendation to me!

Best game I have played in a long time. The ONLY gripe I have with this game is the distance you have to drive sometimes for the side missions… Gets a TAD bit annoying how far away they can be. Other than that, pretty damn entertaining and a very unique experience.

Set the street crime as a destination on your map and hold down Y if you are on the Xbox (its the get in car button) instead of pressing it and your partner will drive you there and it cuts straight to the destination.
