Team Bondi Officially Shuts Down
The ballad of Team Bondi is finally complete, ending on a somber note indeed. It’s curtains, kid. Nothing but curtains.

Did you get your 50 bucks worth from Rockstar and Team Bondi’s crime drama known as L.A. Noire? I sure did, but if you can set your watch to anything nowadays in the gaming industry, it would be the inevitable release of post release content for popular game titles. Details have been released today at Rockstar’s news wire about the first major wave of DLC which are being deployed immediately to Xbox Live and the Playstation Network.
Along with the inclusion of the two outlet specific cases (Gamestop’s “The Naked City” and Wal-Mart/Play’s “A Slip of the Tongue” for $3.99 apiece) as DLC, Rockstar is also releasing a new suit and machine gun for any players who have signed up to the Rockstar Social Club. The Badge Pursuit Challenge, another Gamestop exclusive that gives the player 20 film-negatives to piece together different locations for rewards, is also available for purchase online for $1.99. Finally, rounding off the content being released today, two pre-order suits from different retailers (“The Broderick” suit from Amazon.com and “The Sharpshooter”, a pre-order bonus from Best Buy) will be available today for $0.99 each.
Now, if you did not have access to any of the pre-order content and wish to do so, Rockstar has you covered for those who buy from the smaller retailers. The L.A. Noire Rockstar Pass will be released today for $9.99 which grants all the above stated DLC, saving the player about two bucks off the cost. Not bad, but I’ve already got The Naked City and the Badge Pursuit, so I’ll probably not be partaking in the deal.
Rockstar was also kind enough to set the stage for the next two DLC cases. Nicholson Electroplating, an Arson Case that was brought to light from some Best Buy marketing, will be available on June 21st, while Reefer Madness, a Vice Case hopefully revolving around the famous exploitation movie of the 30′s, will be released on July 12th. Like the two retailer specific cases, both upcoming DLC cases will be $3.99.
So are any of you going to be down for setting some money on DLC? You think two bucks off all the DLC is a good choice? A Slip of the Tongue is a no brainer for me, but no suit can compare to the Outsider! Here’s the full list with XBL and PSN points stated:

A pinball winter wonderland , the return of the Ludum Dare, and the beauty of The Desolate Hope are just some of what awaits you in this week’s edition of your best source (that’s our story and we’re sticking to it) for free gaming on the net.
I asked Rockstar through twitter whether the Rockstar Pass will include all DLC now and in the future and they replied ” the Rockstar Pass will get you all of the L.A. Noire DLC” So that seems to confirm the Rockstar Pass will get you the yet to be released cases when they come out. Makes the Rockstar Pass worth it if you’ve already bought the game. I’ll probably still wait until June 21st to confirm. Hopefully the PSN store will be up by then.
Jeebus, the game hasn’t even been out for a month and just look at the stupid amounts of DLC it has. Most of this stuff comes from the half dozen pre-order packages (Glad to see I got the best value there but I will never actually accept the Badge Pursuit Challenge as being proper DLC).
Yes I’ll probably buy these cases but good grief there must have been mountains of content withheld from the disk.
I don’t even have the game yet, but I’ve been thinking about grabbing the pass, to save money down the line.
I haven’t had the chance to pick the game up yet, so I might just wait and see if they release a GOTY edition after a while. Still, it’s nice to know that more content is coming for a great game. Thanks for the info James.
Waiting for the inevitable GOTY Edition where they bundle all these up and more on disc for like $30. You know it’s happening.
Yea, in like 2 years when ALL of the DLC has been released and no one is buying them anymore. Long wait. If you can wait though more power to you, because then you will save quite a bit of money indeed.
GOTY editions tend to come out a year after the original game released, not “in like two years”. That’s why they’re called the “Game of the Year” edition, it’s a celebration of being last year’s Game of the Year award winner.
Fallout 3 GOTY edition: 2009 (original was 2008).
LittleBigPlanet GOTY: 2009 (original was 2008)
Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY: 2010 (original was 2009)
Elder Scrolls Morrowind GOTY: 2003 (original was 2002)
Call of Duty GOTY: 2004 (original was 2003)
And the trend continues.
So his statement was accurate and probably quite reasonable. If LA Noire wins GOTY (and it very likely will), expect a GOTY edition in 2012. Maybe not for $30, but it’s definitely going to happen.
The reason I said “LIKE 2 years” because I was rounding up… but if you want to get “technical” about it, then yes, it will end up being about a year and a half most likely before we see anything of the sort. I seriously doubt the “GOTY” version of L.A. Noire is going to be released exactly to the date 1 year later… and with all the DLC they have planned I can see the “GOTY” edition being released close to 2 years from now.
Excellent. Hopefully they’ll soon make the console/outlet specific cases DLC for all players as well.
Man, the potential for this game is incredible. I can’t wait for the upcoming DLC.
L.A. Noire is like a DLC paradise, because it really doesn’t have a grand storyline, but individual cases so they can make great amount of DLC. Many games just have couple of bigger DLCs and some map packs to multiplayer, but there are almost infinite amount of different crimes and storylines they can make. I’m really waiting what kind of cases they are going to make
Im pretty sure the pass includes pre-orders for the 2 cases yet to be released (at least that is what it says in the description on xbox)
