In Brink, two factions, "Resistance" and "Security", fight in the previously utopian city known as The Ark, a floating city surrounded by the waters of a flooded Earth.[1] The Ark was designed as a prototype of a perfect city, with renewable resources and no pollution, large enough to support 5,000 residents. However, due to many refugees entering the city from other parts of the world, its population has grown to over 50,000, meaning there are not enough resources to go around - resulting in the city being on the brink (hence the name of the game) of a civil war.

I can’t believe BRINK idiots are still getting pissed about people shit talking this game. It sucks, get over it. Play it if you want but that doesn’t change the fact that the game sucks. It’s already dropped in price, lol. That means that it got traded in so much that they had to lower the price just to get new copies off the shelves.

    This is fly fucking!

Also this is not HE explosives, big clouds of smoke a flames will not be apparent.
Damage is done by shrapnel and the force wave the explosion creates. Most games exaggerate hand grenades, this does not. (It’s also frustrating not being able to see shit if all grenades made mushroom clouds.)

Oh, by the way… Another Modern Warfare(Activision) whore, why am I not surprised.
Call of Duty 4 is the only good game that’s ever come out of the franchise.

Favorite quote from a true CoD/Activison hater “I smell dickcheese, someone must’ve mentioned an Activision title!”

Brink’s weak. The things it delivers are better implemented in TF2 and C2. If you bought it expecting mirroräs edge style levels you’re in for a disappointment.

Yeah ’cause people definitely expect ridiculous colors and levels that have you jump between roof tops.
The S.M.A.R.T. system first and foremost allows easy movement, if there’d be too complicated or ridiculous moves it would be impossible to play as an FPS.

There is no SMART system, that’s just marketing. A game like AssCreed has the engine designed so that everything that juts out a certain amount can be climbed. The way Brink’s engine works is like Mirror’s Edge’s: level designer’s tag objects with button prompts so you can climb those objects.

Brink does try to implement some platforming moves, like a wall-jump for the light body-type. However, this move is ineffectual and the levels aren’t designed to make use of it so it’s worthless. I’d say that’s Brink’s biggest fault: for game design they’ve placed their emphasis on climbing as what will set them apart but the levels do not much reward or require climbing so that it significantly impacts gameplay, turning the tide of battle.

I don’t mind it persay, but there are a lot of issues with it!

Also Eurogamer gave it 8/10 :S

i donno, i’ve never seen a real grenade go off…but wasn’t the point of a grenade to have shrapnel flying in all directions not to have a huge explosion?

still, there isn’t any visible ‘shrapnel’ coming from those nades so they still fail :P

i donno benzai, these don’t really seem ‘such and such’ in five seconds, maybe the title should be ‘brink grenades in five seconds’ but then, that would spoil the awesome content of the video….PARADOXS BE DAMNED!

I have to say I’ve only seen a grenade on Television series like Myth Busters but the given range of a grenade shredding a 1/2 inch plywood stand up was about 20 feet.
That should have hurt much more than it did.
Hell I know bunny farts that’ll clear a room bigger than the radius of that grenade.

The grenades a Brink have quite a good radius, and they do quite a lot of damage.

Grenade shrapnel moves too fast for the human eye to see. So any game where you can see the shrapnel fails.

i donno, with the ‘grenade shooting’ perk the one that lets you shoot grenades, they are at least semi lethal getting a guy down to quarter health, but eh, imo you’re better off saving your resource for your class speacial ability :P

And yet, the grenade launcher is effective. I don’t know.

Also, I can sum Brink up in one sentence: FUCK YOU AI.
