The Jack Attack is back!
Before I begin, if you are thinking about getting this game for the PC, AVOID, AVOID, AVOID, unless you have no other choice. Unlike the Xbox, 360, and Wii version of the game the PC version only allows 2 players. And unlike the Xbox and 360 version there is no online play. That means YDKJ, the game that’s always been known for being a PC game and having 3 players, isn’t so anymore in the 2011 game. There’s also no sign of PC DLC like the 360 version. To compensate the game is $10 cheaper, but really, I don’t think a $10 is enough to justify how it’s been gutted.
When asked about it the develops commented that PC Games were too fat to fit more than two at the keyboard anyway.

Now, with the way the questions have changed to a multiple choice answer from the previous buzz in version it’s easy to understand why this could be a problem for a keyboard, but there’s no reason the PC version can’t support the Xbox “Big Button Controllers”, something that already has PC support from Microsoft via standard windows drivers, and something that the 360 version does. I mean back in the day a lot of people built YDKJ controllers, you’re telling me they wouldn’t spend $20 for four wireless controllers?
Anyway, that said, my copy of YDKJ for the 360 is currently in the mail. I’m just dissapointed that I can’t enjoy it on the platform I remember playing it on, a platform I know is going to have more staying power than my 360 will.
I like your work Bennett, but I’m not too fond about this review. I’d share my thoughts, but this guy summarized a lot of what I would’ve talked about.

Oh boy someone got salty over this video.

Its back?! I thought this series was lost to the times of the 90′s. Though I think they should have had an option where you could do the gibberish questions and typing in with voice. Since most people who have xBox has a mic and PS3 can use any bluetooth… I think that would have been a beautiful addition.
My family used to play this all the time back in the 90s. I’m so glad they made a new one.
I love it how in You Don’t Know Jack: The Ride, they won’t enter the vowels or consonants and the announcer in her elevator voice would say, “Oh, poor you. Your parents didn’t buy you any vowels.”
Oh hell ya, need to get that for pc asap! I have a copy of one of the older ones here. I remember that I was playing YDKJ Movies once with a friend and he waited to long and they gave him “Minty Urinal Cakes’ for a name. LOL. Kinda sucks that they went to episodes though, but doesnt matter much really. It is You dont know jack after all! Now where is that copy of that game.
This is fantastic! The You Don’t Know Jack series is utterly brilliant. I remember taking too long to simply type in my name at the beginning of You Don’t Know Jack: the Ride, because I was talking to a friend, and the game said “This isn’t a Mensa application, Player 1.” Genius!
I also love how when, I was determining how many turns I’d like the game to be, I asked my roommate how many he’d like, and while we were thinking about it, the game got fed up and gave us a number between the two options, which is not normally selectable. Furthermore, this doesn’t usually happen; the game usually chooses one or the other. I LOVE little things like that!
I like a game with a sense of humor. I would totally get this game for ten dollars.
The price point of $30 really makes it worth it. Shame that only the PS3 and 360 versions have online play.
OMG yes!! I have missed this game so much!!! Cookie ROCKS!!
Thank you Bennett… I am back in the Jack action
YNKJ Censored was bundled with my first computer and I loved it. I was hoping I could get it to run on Vista but never had the time to load it and try it out. Maybe I should just get this instead. It IS for PC as well, right?
It is for PC too, but beware that the PC version is only 2 player and has NO online play.
Really? The PC version used to handle three players. I probably wouldn’t use the online anyway, but that’s still a shame. Won’t stop me from getting it. (Lack of funds, however…)
OMG I missed this game! I had all of em up to “The Ride” and used to make my friends play them with me all the time but they would get mad cuz I memorized all the answers.
W00T! Jack is Back!
Though I remember Jack Cake from the UK iteration. Which makes me wonder if they’re gonna do that for this one…
