British humor can be pretty twisted sometimes. Take the game in Guru Larry’s latest review, “Don’t Buy This”. A game that’s so utterly terrible, the publisher released it anyway for a laugh, THEN told people NOT to buy it and pirate the Hell out of it instead!

Be sure to check out Guru Larry’s All New YouTube Channel!!! Games Yanks Can’t Wank – Don’t Buy This: Five of the Worst Games Ever, 4.4 out of 5 based on 57 ratings

Bundled software back in those 80′s videogame heydays were often terrible also:
No one would even bother to copy crap like this, bundled with the Spectrum 128k+2:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFpp547XHnI

Having said that, you often could get nice bundles, like the They Sold a Million compilation ,which at least gave you nice value.

I had Punchy bundled with my Amstrad as a kid, but I never knew until recently it was a poorman’s rip off of Hunchback in the arcades.

But some compilations were awesome Ten Great Games, We Are the Champions Etc. I wish they still did them.

I was thinking on doing a video just about compilations.

Love this video Guru Larry. I am waiting with baited breath for the Castlevania video.

BTW, any chance of having Rik Mayall’s Nintendo commercials? I heard he did a bunch of them, other then the ones YouTube has.

That’s going to be quite long, so I may do another video before I finish it.

I’ve been wanting to do a certain PS2 game for ages, and thought I’d better get to it before someone else beats me to it!

    Great review, terrible games.
Now typos happen to everyone, just ask Angry Joe, but I had to mention this one because it made me laugh so hard. In the last card at the end Larry asks about what would be worse, having your game submission rejected or put in a game called Don’t Buy This. However thanks to a simple slip of the keys we are left to ponder instead which outcome would be more /insluting/ :D

Did I just see a Count Duckula game?

How can you hate Scrappy when his companions were a retarded clumsy coward & guy who does nothing but smoke pot, eat, & piss his pants?

That’s Count Duckula 2, the original was okay, but the sequel was TERRIBLE, It’s bad for a Spectrum game released in 1984, but it was released in 1992. the same year as Street Fighter II.

And you like Scrappy Doo? He was the most obnoxious, irritating, teeth grinding, one dimensional character ever to grace a cartoon.

WTF?! Now I know where Ke-dollar sign-ha got the sound for her “song” Take it off, you can hear it when it says “You have no money left” at the Fruit Machine part. I guess all the shit in this world gets collected somehow and refined into something… something diabolic.

Technically, it’s Space Channel 5 and Space Channel 5 Part 2. We just never got Part 2 on the Dreamcast here in the US. Strictly on the PS2 through that Special Edition.

It’s a two disc, both Part one AND part two are in here (Part Two is, in my opinion, vastly superior anyway)

I find it funny that a publisher even had the balls to publish a compilation of games, calling them the worst ever and not to buy them. Then again, it’s likely they did it just to see if the title alone would grab the interest of people. Though they technically weren’t lying.

Just a little thing to note: Shigeru Miyamoto’s family name is pronounced “Mee-yah-mo-toh.” Not “My-ah-mo-toh.” It’s up there with “Ryu” and “Gaiden” as Japanese words that more often than not get mispronounced by a good number of people. :P

Gaiden suffered the most from this.

Not to mention the more common words in the English language that are pronounced wrong, like: ‘Kamikaze’ and ‘Karaoke”.

I too had Cassette 50 with that dodgy calculator watch, alas I havent seen it since I was a kid. Although I do remember a game that was on the end of a Shakin’ Stevens album that I had (it wasnt mine, honest) that was for the Spectrum 128, now that was one heck of a bad game, you should try and find a copy of it.

After a bit of looking I found this article about games that were featured with albums etc, its mentioned here

        http://www.kempa.com/2004/03/09/vinyl-data/

Just wanted to say how much I enjoy these videos too, being a UK resident I had a C64 for years as my main gaming machine and never played a NES till much later. And its great to see vids about the games I played rather than the US stuff, your last video about Contra being called Gryzor brought back some memories. I was a big fan of the System 3 games like Myth and The Last Ninja series.

Anyway keep up the good work.
