I agree we should have a choice btwn singing along cuz I cant sing either. I prefer to dance. Much more my taste and I like dancing as Michael. So nI think we should have a choice in that too. Lots of kinks to work out so I hope they do the right thing. Also do u think they would make a Jackson 5 game. I love all their songs and would not mind learning the steps that made them great dancers to begin with. :) Gosh I love the Jackson family. :)

I’m not really to much of a gamer (WHY AM I ON THIS SITE?!?!) but , for me anyway, the Wii version just looks more FUN! I also can’t sing worth a crap, and IF thats unable to be removed, I wouldn’t even consider buying the Kinect version. BTW, I’m pretty sure I fall into the category of not knowing what I’m doing, so that could seriously screw me up. I know how to use my trusty Nintendo, so I’m thinking I’ll just stick with that

These video examples do not prove anything. There is no video of someone on screen playing the Wii version so we can’t see whether the game controls well or not. I think a better and more fair assessment of both versions will come with actual hands on time with both versions. Sorry, but I can’t compare the versions based off this video alone.

I can see why they did the Wii Version the way they did with one arm, you could potentially throw the Wii mote by accident, plus Michael Jackson The Experience looks like the other Dance game you reviewed it kinda looks like a sequel too it. BUT the Kinect version does look like crap and with the Wii avatar I think why it is like it is because it could honor Michael or to avoid Lawsuits(you know how people are these days)

Though I agree with Joe 110% they need to fix the issues with the game, the people singing and possibly dancing other then the three dancers effected gameplay, the demonstration copy coulda been rushed but then again you never know.

My little bro got the Wii version the day it came out and, although it’s not the most precise or technical example of a “game”, it is fun as hell. The song selection is great, and the graphics and effects that go along with them are fun to watch. More than anything, it’s great to have the option to play with multiple players doing multiple different dance parts.
That’s one of the main things that concerns me about the Kinect version. Is it going to be multiplayer? I highly doubt it. Although I like the idea of singing, I agree with Joe in that it should be optional, not to mention the virtual projection is a tad distracting.
For my money, the Wii version is enjoyable and is the version I’d most enjoy playing.

Things is, the more I look at this game, the more I want to play it. I have both a Wii and a PS3, so I may end up getting the Move version assuming it works. Of course, I’ll be watching this site when it comes out, but the Wii version looks interesting. Sure you can cheat more easily, but why would you want to? I mean, there’s no payoff to cheating here. Plus, if I can trim the fat by just playing Smooth Criminal over and over again, I’ll friggen take it. Beats squats and sit-ups any day.

The Wii version looks nice but it looks like you can cheat that one HARD. Only tracking the one arm? i could just sit in a chair or on a couch and swing my arm around correctly lol The kinect one looks bleh if you can’t turn off the singing…well that’s it right there. I HATED the singing in rock band and all its iterations. Joe’s right if they don’t toss these options at you and make you sing/dance always well this game goes from potentially great to not even worth buying (if i owned a kinect). No offense Joe but could we get some none kinect reviews from you? I know you love this thing but hell i can’t track to down anyone i know or anyone who knows anyone who has bought this thing where I live (i live in a city of a million and I do socialize). Is this even doing that well? I mean really I would like to know some of these dancing games look interesting. I just don’t want to buy a dead on launch thing.

The Kinect version is using the “Virtual Projection” tech way too much, which I can see causing the lag. As far as which I would prefer, Kinect if just purely because I get an excuse to actually dance

Feeling kind of skeptical about the kinect version. I’m not going to rule it out yet though, the version in the video seemed like a pretty early version and im sure until March they can make it a lot better. It would be nice to have the same visual style as the Wii version though, because that one just looks awesome

The only reason for a noway vote is that I own nothing, nada, not even the PS3 system. And for the 360 I don’t really have the room to buy it. The wii one looks alot better and has a basic set up for it. I guess the only worry now is if all three games are good with the controls.

The Wii version seemed to require more dynamic motions than the Kinect. The movements required by the Kinect one seemed cruder… the Wii one has you MOVING with the large arm movements characteristic of MJ’s dance style. The Kinect one seemed more hip-based and limited in the required movement, which is odd considering the Kinect can track your whole body. And that lag is lethal. Hopefully that’s a kink they’re working out now.

Nice vid, I like the crossover of different platforms and the different presentations. I have to agree on most points, especially the mix of singing/dancing on the Kinect version not looking too appealing. I mean sure if you want to make it an option but the two different types of interfaces look really jarring. The Wii version definitely looks a lot cleaner and simpler but does it have any way to track foot and leg motion? I think that’s going to be one of the big draws for Kinect is you can really learn the dance moves, the Wii isn’t going to be as effective for that. I think most people are going to go for the Wii version in the end though, it’s simpler, cheaper, and it’s out first, but the Kinect will probably be the more fulfilling of the two. As far as only releasing 1 version of the game and adding to it with DLC I think it’s too early in the Kinect’s lifespan to be releasing definitive versions of any game. There’s always the possibility of patching games but I think there are going to be improvements to the software and development kits down the line and they’re going to make better, more responsive and more interactive games as people get more comfortable designing for the platform. So I’d imagine at least a retooled or “deluxe” version down the line.

Edit: Oh, and they need to make a MJ Hat accessory for the Wii, cause they have Wii accessories for everything else.

The lag must at least be taken care of. if it is, then I’m still on the fence. As you said in the review, this game looks really messy, and if it’s as bare-bones as dance central, then there’s no chance. However, if they do manage to add in other parts to it and make it a more fleshed-out game, then I’ll look into it.

It’s hard to judge based on visuals alone but it seems like the wii version is better at tracking the movements. I suggest Joe that you find a friend with a wii (if you don’t already have one), rent the wii version and use it to add to your review of the kinect version, just to compare, because while they are the same game, they have key differences which you might want to explore.

WHY HAVEN’T THESE MUSIC GAMES ADVERTISED A FREAKIN’ HEADSET OVER A MICROPHONE?!
Seriously, you can pull off most dance moves quite effectively while still being able to sing!
The dance moves featured in the video are a tad weak for an “experience”, but I wonder if that has more to do with the difficulty setting than anything else. I mean, if you’ve seen his music videos (and I’m sure a good majority has), then you can see that while it isn’t that bad (the “Smooth Criminal” clip is a testament to that), it’s not….the “real deal”.
Here’s hoping that this game allows you to do the REAL dance moves on the harder difficulties (the actual dance motions from “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough” wasn’t good enough for this game?).

In any case, I’m gonna have to go with the Wii version over the Kinect.
Why? Because an MJ-lookalike is much better than a Tron-esque reject.
What? That’s what it looked like to me!

im not even thrilled by the kinect at all TBH besides kinectimals of course (that was a joke btw)

Wow, I can’t wait until march! That review is gonna be epic!
With this and the Dance Central, I’m starting to considering buying the Kinect. When I have the money that is. The Wii version looks very good, but I think that the Kinect version will be better simply because you don’t need to hold the controllers and it will see the whole body dancing, not just the hands. BUT, as Joe pointed out, it needs an option for dancing and/or singing. And last, as some has already pointed out, multiplayer? It doesn’t exsist in the Dance Central in that way but could it be that they fix it for this game? Only time will tell…

So far it seems like the biggest part of this move tech is dancing. Even if I had the remotest interest in dancing, it wouldn’t be a day 1.

From the clips available the Wii version does look better (if I’m dancing to MJ, I want to BE MJ… too much going on in the Kinect version). But these determinations are best left until one can get a hand on both versions.

it does look bad joe, but remember that this game is still on beta. i dont like that thing about the 3d scan doing the dance, it makes lag, and seriously we ALL suck at dancing (unless we are pro dancers or super MJ fans that know all his moves) if we use the 3d scan for the actual dance instead of a pre-made avatar with small pre-made animations we will look stupid and shitty. i dont think this game is coming out in march, if it is so its going to suck, be taken out of stores, and be re-developed (i wish this could happend with sonic free riders).

Even tho im been to rough on this, i really hope this game is good, if he was still alive he would have love this, maybe even finance the development of this game, i give it a 4\10 a mehh rating because of the lag and the over use of especial effects

I can see that the Kinect is going to look superior in visuals to a point, but until they can remedy what appears to have ALOT of lag and give us the choice of dance or sing, it’ll look like that the Wii version is going to be the superior choice.

The kinect version looks like it has way too many things distracting you onscreen – but then again, maybe that’s an early version. Hopefully, the lagtime issues that were cropping up in the video you showed will have been ironed out as well!

Not looking forward to it – but if it’s as good as D Central, I might buy a Kinect to play those two – and eventually Steel Battalion 2

The Wii version looks like its in the uncanny valley, and lacking motion technology in comparison to the Kinect makes me fear it a little…but it does look fun and playable.

The Kinect version, on the other hand, seems a little laggy and I’m not really a fan of the graphical style. Granted, the uncanny Mikey isn’t much better, but neither is this sparkly silhouette. I want to see a much more MJ-like character involved. Plus, no indicators on screen for the actual moves you are doing? Umm…that sounds kind of tough.

Though I do recall hearing that you can in fact turn off the singing portions of the game. Not sure qute yet.

You can’t compare a game that is out to one still in production. Kinect was always seemingly laggy at shows due to the lighting and the singing thing is probably ubisoft showing off 2 things at once i.e this version has singing too I can’t believe they would be stupid enough to not have dancing only.

IN conclusion, wait and compare these games when both are retail avaliable and erm Joe think you mean march 2011 not 2010!

Right now, I can’t say which version is better. I have not played the Wii or Kinect editions of this game. However, based on the clips alone, the Wii version looks superior. I still don’t like the idea of waving a Wiimote to control a full dancing avatar as shortcuts can be taken with that. Dance Central easily the best dancing game out there as it tracks your fully body. You aren’t cheating by waving a Wiimote and you aren’t mashing four buttons on a pad (again, there are shortcuts for doing that). Dance Central makes you get up off your ass and actually dance.

So the Kinect version of this game has far more potential but it doesn’t look like they are tapping into that. It was far more difficult to see the backup dancers and the moves you were supposed to complete in the Kinect version as well. I also don’t understand why they would want mix up singing and dancing (let the user decide this) along with inserting the gamer into the actual game. It works great for exercise titles but this is called Michael Jackson: The Experience. It isn’t called You: The Experience. I want to dance with an avatar that looks like Michael, not some Slimer reject version of myself.

I will wait until the Kinect version is released. I just hope that the extra time from the delay is properly used to make it more on par with what Dance Central has established. I am not asking for a Michael Jackson: Dance Central Clone or anything else. I just think that they should use what works with a game like this. I want to dance to Thriller with my entire body like MJ did in the music videos. I don’t want to see some ghostly image of myself or just wave around a remote to get the same affect.

Currently as it is from those clips it seems as thought the Wii version would be more something I’d buy. I am a dreadful dancer at the best of time so a model dancing onscreen to make me feel more awesome than I am is great, while at the same time it seems the dancing is a lot more fast paced in in tune with what you would “expect” michael to be dancing. Even if it is just waving 1 hand around.

The 360 1 I could see being fantastic if
    A) You were a good dancer. Having that motion capture would be amazing IF you can dance, being able to see every little movement looks fantastic, ignoring the excess lights and effects on screen.
and B) You knew the actual dance. I saw it does that the models on the right side and the backups but still it just seems so stuttered, at clip seems more to moving from 1 pose to the next and it just seems like full motion tracking should allow for so much more. Maybe we just saw the clip on an easier mode?

What ever it is it must have a tutorial mode to teach me to moonwalk, this is an absolute must.

Why does Joe keep on lumping the Move with the Kinect? They don’t work the same way. If anything, the Move version is probably gonna be either like the Kinect version, the Wii version, or a mixture of the two. I’m undecided, Joe, you gotta treat the Move and PS3 as different from the Kinect and Xbox 360.

Anyway, the wii version looks much smoother and more responsive, I like how it doesn’t have singing (most everyone in my house would hate to listen to me anyway), I would rather watch the Michael Jackson avatar with all the cool costumes than the glowing blue me, and finally if you have a wii you don’t need to buy anything other than the game. I have an x-box and so far i haven’t been convinced that any game so far is worth buying a kennect to play.

The Wii version, at the moment, is the superior version. Definitely. Unfortunately the people behind the Move/Kinect version fell in the trap of making this “better” by making it more. What they needed to do was just ditch the song, upgrade the avatars and lessen the flashy shit.

It really depends on the option of turning off the singing parts or not. Like Joe I’m not much of a singer, in fact I can’t sing a note, let alone dance AND sing. If that option is not available then I am hands down going with the Wii version. It looks like a lot of fun. The Kinect version has the potential to be just as fun if not better due to the full body tracking, but the singing is what would kill the experience for me.

From what I’ve seen from your review. Here is my personal opinion. As it stands from what you have shown, the WII version seems to be the way to go with this game. Though as you stated if they had a Karokee or Dance only options for the Konnect that it would appeal to more of an audience. WII’s version seems to be easier to do and more fluent than the Konnect I have not played it and this is just what I saw from your review. The Avatar as you on the Konnect version I agree it’s hard to see if you are doing the correct moves or not. The Avatar on the WII feels more like a game where it’s MJ stand in with many different costumes this makes it more appealing. Bottom Line I do not think that the Konnect version will be a first day sale, especially if there is nothing out there about the game play of this game.

I’ll probably go with the PSMove ver. since it will look better in HD and the Move is much more precise than the Wii due to it’s aging tech. But the room my PS3 is in a much smaller space compared to where my Wii is hooked up. I’ll buy the move version first then pick up a Wii title used.

My main concern with the Kinect version is the noticeable input lag. Especially considering it’s a game about Michael Jackson. Those moves have to be sharp as a knife. Still curious about how the PS Move version will be. If I had to guess it would be kind of a happy medium between the Kinect and Wii version. At least there will be no noticeable input lag and the movements will be very precise.

I don’t know if it’s the dancers or the game but in the direct comparison it looks like the dancing on the wii version is faster paced. But it might be just that the dancers up there aren’t very fast doing the moves too slow.
If it’s the dancers I’d say the Kinect version is at least on Par with the Wii version. If it’s the game I’d say Wii takes the pot.

I kinda like the look of the Wii Version. Actually there was a space for it on the Gamescom this year, but I didn’t bother trying. I mean… it was hidden behind a big wall and it was impossible to see what this game was about, so I gave it a pass, but my mom (yes… my mom) decided to test it anyways. She actually was Player 1 and tried her best to “Beat It!”. She had alot of fun and said that people who like Dancing and like Micheal Jackson would probatly like this game.

about the Kinect/Move Version… well it looks odd, and being forced to sing is stupid. I mean… Either make a Dance Central MJ Edition, or a Lips MJ Edition. Mixing these two don’t seem to fit.

If they do their development right they will use this game as a Platform. I don’t think they will release a second version anytime soon and rather have any missing songs available as DLC. But it will still be defining for any future dance games from that company because they will be based on it and pretty much work the same.
I think they want to cash in on the Michael Jackson name with this one and use the feedback they get to adress the remaining issues. That means that one or two games down the line they will hopefully have a “perfect” dance game and start re-releasing it in various themed versions to bleed that cash cow dry. :p

I love the rotoscoped look of the Wii Version. It’s definitely worth a purchase. The Kinect version doesn’t look like a lot of fun to me simply because you don’t get to perform all the cool signature movies Michael performs in his songs.

the kinect/move version looks very crappy compared to the Wii version, i thought it would be cool to have pretty much a hd version of it, because some of the sets looks, well, Wii-ish, but having a scene instead of the crazy sets and areas, thats no fun, thats actually one of the things i dont like about most other music games, the stages are no fun to look at, but in those games its balanced out by you almost never seeing them because you have to stare at the pellets, that wouldent be the case in this game.

and then theres the avatar, it looks like they are trying to help you hide your fuck ups with sparkles, now i dont know if the majority of MJ fans are 6-9 year old girls, but if not it seems stupid, and the dance moves look inferior to what the wii demonstrated.

all in all the Wii version LOOKS superior in every way, not having played it i cant say if it is aany good, but it looks great, but with the exception of that leaning thing i think it would be much more fun on the kinect, if i had to do the leaning i would fall and break my neck on a nearby stool.

This is crap, and totally not fair to show a finalized version to what is obviously a demo they did for some random audience just to show the possibilities the game could have. It’s barely about to be December, no telling what actual stage the game was in at the time, and its not due till next year! The Kinect just came out so of course like ANY system its going to have it’s glitches, but the overall technology is in the lead compared to the other systems.

I say stop jumping to conclusions… clearly if there is no easily available footage that means that the actual game play is not ready to be shown. Dance Central is a clear indicator of what the Kinect can do with a dance game… and the system isn’t even perfected yet! By the time MJ : the Experience comes out I am sure they will have a clear idea of how to surpass the Wii version… you have to see what the crowd likes first in order to make your version better… otherwise you will just be a damn carbon copy lol!

Also if anyone knows anything about marketing and advertising… It would be suicide almost to release such a huge game the same time as an established system such as the Wii when you are the new kid on the block. Kinect is still trying to make a name for itself to get people to purchase it in general (which it is gradually) so give it some time people. I swear everyone acts as if all new systems that came out were error free, and instantly outselling everything lol

I don’t know, at this moment the wii version is far more superior for dancers. And that’s bad, but the footage can be very old, and they had/have time to upgrade the kinect version so it becomes the best version.
I surely hope, but I know it won’t happen, that they destroy the singing part, OR that you have the option to play with two players, the first player dances, the second player sings. But that doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t be possible to dance with 2 players!!

How long ago is the Kinect footage from? Also, please let taht singing portion go die in a fire, the Wii version doesn’t have it, and they don’t need it. Also worrying that the Kinect seemingly can’t recognize the backup dancers, where the Wii had multiplayer capability with backup dancers on other Wiimotes.

Worrying that they can’t get it to work nearly as well as they did as the Wii demos I saw while waiting in line to get into the AC: Brotherhood play area (TWO. HOUR. WAIT.). Those demos had two professional dancers who clearly really knew the moves, and one normal guy they either picked out from the crowds or EB Japan, and even Normal Joe-san could get it pretty well, which I think is gonna be a huge thing here – the difficultly curve.

Also, that avatar and the lack of a definable face (which he would’ve looked like a few years more alive) is still freaking creepy.

Joe, I will tell you the honest truth. You a definately better off with the Kinect version. The Just Dance engine is one of the worst systems I’ve seen. I’m baffled at why it’s Wii-Mote only. It’s dancing, motion is key. Why is there no Nunchuk support? Plus from playing the original Just Dance (my sister brought it, brainwashed by the adverts). The controls just don’t work. It will be the same with this game, unless it’s using motion plus (Which it won’t) it will not pick up your readings and just won’t work. Same goes for the other Just Dance games. One wii-mote is painfully easy to cheat and you will have to considering how the games fail to read your input half the time, this will no doubt cheapen the experience.

Plus, they cheated out on competitive multiplayer just to have one main dancer and the rest be back-ups as well. Lame.

For the Kinect version, when was that demo? Odds are the game might have evolved rapidly since then, the dancing will be better, full body tracking is undeniably better than one hand. Plus it will be the one with the DLC (that and move). if the wii version gets it, then expect to fork out the money, since it will be around 300 points per song ($3) and when it’s only one hand, it cheapens the experience.

Anyway, final verdict. Avoid the Wii version, nothing good has come out of the Just Dance engine. And hold on for the Kinect/Move versions until we get some final versions.

I voted no way, as I more than likely will not be buying this game. But it’s not because I think it looks like crap or anything, i am just not one to go buy the newer dance games. Although who knows, maybe my friends and I will pick it up for laughs. XD

Honestly if you ask me, the Wii version looks a lot more stable and fluent where as the 360 version is laggy and probably has a tendency to really hinder game play because of it. The bits of singing are also really obnoxious. That really should be a separate player or at least a selectable mode of play via the options as you said. I also really like the idea of the avatar (MJ or otherwise) as opposed to a blue neon glowing you.. It just looks off. Who knows, maybe the creators saw that and decided to push it back to perfect it. Hopefully by march it can stand up to the Wii version if not vastly surpass it. But sometimes games that get pushed back can tend to get pushed aside to the graveyard of shitty games even after the extra time put into it. Only time will tell.

This is just an assumption but a big part of the noticeable lag could be due to the projection screen itself and not the game. I personally don’t play dance games of any kind so I can’t comment on which one I would prefer. I personally think the Wii version looks better.

Well… I’m undecided XD” The Wii Version looks way more fun, with the freaky visuals (looks like the good old 80s), the Michael Jackson Avatar AND a 4 PLAYER MULTIPLAYER MODE! – Who’s bad?

I’m not sure but I didn’t see any points or commentary for the vocals (like “good” or “perfect”) in the Kinect version? So is it even necessary to sing? I mean: HELLO! Michael Jackson is singing anyway. Why should I even try???

I would say in some sense the Kinect and Move versions were very superior . I only say this, because when your doing Michael Jackson dance movies, you do not want to be holding something in your hand and only doing half the moves. I want a game that actually lets you play as the Michael Jackson dancing.

I did have a problem with the virtual projection though. It looked like a blurry person and it didn’t look realistic. I do agree that the actual person should either be in the game or it should be an avatar.

As for settings with singing and dancing, I think they should keep it as both singing and dancing. It adds much more realism to the game, sad to say. If they do a Michael Jackson game, should it just be a dancing version of Rock Band?

So far, I would not buy the Kinect version from day one by the looks of it. The Wii version does look pretty awesome though if you already have a Wii. Even if the avatar looks a bit devilish and creepy.

    Awesome Review by the way!

I think the wii looked a little better. I was thinking about the singing part of the Kinect version and I really hope you can disable that. I don’t mind singing horribly in front of friends (I usually sing in rockband because I suck at everything else) but dancing as well as singing may make things a little difficult.

I also like the more DDR feel I got from the wii version. Or I could be incredibly biased because I have a wii and can’t afford a Kinect :s

I like the idea of the Kinetics’s full motion, but there is to much on the screen, and my concern would it lag the machine down to much with more than one, maybe 2 players. I also prefer the Wii’s looks too, it maybe simple, but works well, unlike the Kinetics’s version where I had a hard time seeing what moves are performed at the time, and may drop it in my own point level some.

I’d also say that the Wii version looked a bit superior here. That scanning technology is definitely pretty awesome, but the input lag could be a serious problem when you try to match with the dancers, as you pointed out Joe. The Wii version does seem more simple and doesn’t have the singing, but the controls seem to be a bit better due to having no lag.

Of course, that’s just my opinion. We’ll see how it turns out when it comes out. I’ll be sure to check for your video when it happens Joe.

It seems to me that more Kinect owners will buy the game than Wii owners the Wii version. At this point in time I have to say the Wii is better, however in the eyes of an uninformered/non-gaming consumer, the Kinect would seem better simply because it uses full motion sensors and singing. I believe that there is a chance that the Kinect will prove to be the better title, but if they do not incorparate Joe’s suggestions, the Kinect will surely suffer. I don’t see us having to worry about lag on the Kinect version, I see it as more of an early error that possibly won’t be fixed. Chances are, the Wii version will come out on top, only to clash with Move, though Move may also have singing, I’m guessing it will based on the fact that it is being released later and they have no true reason to release it with the Kinect as opposed to with the Wii or independently.

I might get this for the Move or Wii but for Kinect that looks like there will be another Angry Joe Kayne and Lynch review… What is so great about the Wii version gameplay is it is really like a Michael Jackson experience with the style of the full game, but Kinect version seems nothing like a Michael Jackson game and just a dance game with MJ song. Plus singing WTF?!

I am going to be the one on the limb here and state something different from everyone. The PS3 Move maybe the best version of this game. It combines the best possibilities of using the Wii Motion Plus and the camera elements of the Kinect. Because of this, the moves should be easier for the system software to recognize and reduce lag. Unfortunately this video doesn’t have anything to do with the PS3 Move version of the game, but as with most multi port games, the Xbox and Playstation games are usually very similar. I do hope that the virtual avatars used in the Wii platform are available for Xbox and Playstation gamers, because it is a good concept. As with what Joe stated, yeah the game should have an option to turn off the singing portion, because I know a lot of people cannot hold a note (I am one of them).

In my opinion the Wii version looks better, but I will admit the Kinect version has potential. The reason I rate the Wii higher is because we see so little of the Kinect version, not to mention the danceing images are kinda hard to get a good look at due to the sparkles and the fact tat it’s behind the person playing it.
Still I’m very interested in seeing the Kinect version. The idea of the Kinect scanning your image into the dance is very interesting and not to mention very sci-fi-ish.
Will look forward to the review.

On a side note, I wonder what a Capoera dance game would look like.

Joe unless the Wii got a cam when I wasn’t looking or you have footage of people playing in front of a T.V instead of just the avatar then your over estimating the awesomeness of this game. Cuz with just the a Wii mote or two I don’t think it could possibly be as cool as you made it sound. Maybe I’m wrong but with just the Avatar footage we don’t know how much effort you actually have to put into the wii version. For all we know there is just a dude swinging his arm back and forth.

I would like options with the singing, I can’t sing at all but at home alone or just with friends I really don’t care what I sound like, so it could be a good cracked out time. Looks like fun though!

OK, I’ll sum up both games as best I can from watching the review. The Wii version seems to respond faster because it uses pre rendered sprites of MJ and his dancer. the major Con is you really obly have to use the one hand with the Wiimote in it. Now while the 3D scan in technology is neat and all, that is where the lag is coming from. I agree that turning off the singing portions is a good ides, though for people like me who can sing and not dance it does add something different. If they have an option to turn off the singing, add MJ into the game, and even have a break-down mode like Dance Central does to help teach people like me who were born with 3 left feet to dance, this would be a great game.

Honestly? Hmm….I think the technology behind making your own digital avatar is really cool, and I can imagine having each player scan in their body type so you’d essentially have your own Michael Jackson tribute team if you can store multiple characters. Overall, if they can refine the game play to get rid of the bugs that were shown in the video, as well as include an option to disable singing or dancing for the song, this would be really good. However, I think it’d be better if this game worked as a platform where you can download DLC IMO.

The Wii version looks superior is something you have never hear anybody say until now . Honestly its sad that A dance game for kinect could turn out that bad , especially when there is the same style dance game for the system. If the Wii version is Just Dance MJ edition then why isnt the kinect following the same form with Dance Central MJ edition. I hate to say a game should be a clone but that kinect version looks terrible , lets just hope it is an alpha and nothing like the final product. I don’t own a kinect because Dance central is the only title worth anything on it but an MJ pack could warrant the price.

A WTF about the kinect version , Cool tech in all putting me in the game but its Michal Jackson . I played GH Metalica to play as Metalica and if I’m getting a Michael Jackson game I want to be Michael !

The singing I hope they ditch for the fact that it seems like they are trying to get away with less dancing content by throwing a singing feature in. So we buy the Kinect , the game and a mic for this game hat is phoning it in ? No , drop that now unless you man up to the astonishing superior wii version. Just Dance is fun but half of the time I’m bullshitting the movements and getting a great score and I don’t want to do that with the king of pop.

I wish the Wii version was what the Kinect version was. I’d much prefer the visuals from the Wii version, and it looks like it would be way better to dance to and more fun if it tracked your movement then the Kinect one. I kinda hope they realise what they are doing with the Kinect version would not be anywhere near as fun and awesome as if they just change the Wii version to be compatible with the Kinect. But alas, they probably won’t…Surely it would be easier to just adapt the Wii version to be compatible with the Kinect?

The Kinect/Move version’s wide 3D background venues do far more for immersion. It makes it appear more grand than the Wii version, which looks as though you’re dancing on a green-screen corner somewhere, or in a box, with little importance (Imagine Guitar Hero with an album cover for a background) However, the Wii version does appear to be smoother and quicker, and it doesn’t have so much unneeded “visual flair”. Hard to say, multiplayer will be an important factor for buyers.
